Asamoah Gyan to receive big award in Germany

Gyan has been labelled a beast by Sarah Kwabla's mother

Gyan scores again 11Al Ain forward, Asamoah Gyan says he is hoping to be more prolific and emulate his goalscoring heroics of this year in the next year.

The 29-year-old made a strong finish to the year where he returned to free scoring form after his full recovery from injury.

Gyan helped Al Ain reach the semi finals of the Asian Champions League where he emerged the top scorer with 12 goals.

Speaking to reporters before jetting to Ghana, the Black Stars captain said: “I have not been myself through this first round, but I am still working hard. I know what I can do.”

“I have scored eight goals so far, which people thought I couldn’t do because my head was not in the right place. Hopefully, next year I will come back strongly. Watch out.”

Looking ahead to the next year, the Gyan added that he would be “praying for the health of the players” during the month-long break to help ensure the Boss are at full-strength when play resumes.

“The break will be good for us because some of the players will be going to national teams and then coming back. By the end of February everybody will be in tip-top shape,” He added.

“By the end of February, everybody will be in tip-top shape. It is not going to be easy next year, but I think we will get our full squad back and that is the most important thing. I am praying for the health of the players, for them to be injury-free. I am sure when we have a full team we can win the league.”

“I was suspended [following a red card in the ACL semi-final, second leg against Al Hilal], which was a bit frustrating. Then having injuries here and there.”

Al Ain are tied on 27 points with leaders Al Jazira as the division stops for January’s Asian Cup, despite playing a game less, and there have been plentiful hurdles for Zlatko Dalic’s men to reach this stage.
