Renowed Ghanaian coach, Yussif Bassigi has ruled himself out of the race for the Black Queens coaching job.
There are growing calls for the Hasaacas Ladies coach to return to the Black Queens following the impressive performance of his side in the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions league in Cairo, Egypt.
But reacting to the calls, Basigi says coaching the Black Queens is not his priority at present.
“The issue of coaching the Black Queens is not my priority,” the experienced coach said.
“I have been with the national team for 6 years and now my ambition is even beyond that.
“The Black Queens is not a top priority, the only thing I think about now is Hasaacas Ladies. I want to move Hasaacas Ladies to another level”, Basigi added.
Yussif Basigi is currently with Hasaacas Ladies at the Inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions have already secured a place in the semi-final of the competition where they will face Moroccan side AS FAR.
The former Black Queens and Black Princesses trainer guided Hasaacas Ladies to win their 5th League title, the FA Cup and the WAFU Zone B championship in Ivory Coast last season.
Under his realm as Black Queens coach, he led the team to win Gold at the 2015 All Africa Games followed by a bronze medal finish at the 2016 African Women’s Cup of Nations.
Basigi also qualified the Black Princesses to the 2018 Women’s U-20 World Cup in France.
