The hitherto MTN Invitational golf tournament returns with a first of 2022 at the Achimota Golf Club in Accra this Saturday, August 20 under a new name, the Dr. Ishmael Yamson MTN Invitational Golf Tournament, in honour of the Board Chairman of MTN Ghana.
A field of over 72 golfers from across Ghana are expected to compete for honours when the event set to be held under the theme, ‘MTN Home Broadband, Your Favourite Spot for Entertainment, eLearning and many more’ tees off 8am Saturday morning.
Earmaked as the only golf competition to be staged by MTN this year, an avalanche of mouthwatering prizes are on offer for the winners in various categories including trophies, phones devices and other souvenirs from the MTN sponsors.
The newly christened Dr. Yamson MTN Invitational Golf Tournament has over the years remained a constant event on the Ghanaian golfing calendar and has rotated among the biggest golf clubs around the country, featuring a host of Ghana’s top golfers.
Also an avenue for business executives to meet and network in the midst of entertainment and fun, it provides the perfect environment for exchange of ideas in a very relaxed atmosphere.
“This event will he huge and special with lots of prizes and side attractions as it would be the only golf competition for 2022. We promise a day of enjoyment and good competiton for our distinguished golfers,” said a statement from MTN.
“We pledge to put in everything to ensure a wonderful experience to make up for the inability to organise more than one tournament this year,” it added.
