‘We worked as a team in the second half’ West Ham manager jabs after Kudus halftime sub

Manager of West Ham United, Julen Lopetegui has suggested that Mohammed Kudus is not a team player following his side’s early struggles in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Mohammed Kudus started for West Ham United against Brentford on Saturday in the 1-1 draw but was replaced by Carlos Soler at the end of the first half when the Hammers were trailing.

Speaking in a post-match interview, West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui said his decision to take off the Ghana star was tactical, adding that his side worked as a team in the second half.

“It was a tactical decision. I was thinking we need that. I was thinking that was better for the team and we needed these kinds of changes. The second half we worked as a team,” Julen Lopetegui said.

These comments have caused a lot of stir and raised eyebrows about the commitment of Mohammed Kudus to team success.

The forward would have to work hard to convince his manager that he can be a team player during next week’s training sessions.

The Ghana forward’s talent remains unquestionable, especially after proving his worth for West Ham both in the English Premier League and Europa League in his debut season.
