Ethiopia name 28-man squad to face Ghana in 2022 World Cup qualifiers:

Ethiopia coach Wubetu Abate has called up 28 players to start training ahead of their 2022 World Cup Qualifiers against Ghana and Zimbabwe.

All players have been told to report by Sunday.

The list includes three deadly strikers wh have scored a combined 58 goals in the Ethiopian top-flight league this season.

Abubeker Nassir of Ethiopia Bunna FC who is the leading top scorer has scored 23goals, followed by Fasil Kenema FC striker Mujib Kassim with 20 goals and Getaneh Kebede of Kedus St George has 15 goals.

The Walia Ibex of Ethiopia will travel to play against the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, September 3, 2021, in Cape Coast before playing Zimbabwe on Monday, September 6, 2021.

Meanwhile, Ghana coach Charles Akonnor will announce his squad on Friday, August 13.

Goalkeepers: Fasil Gebremichael, Firew Getahun, Teklemariam Shanko, Jemal Tassew.

Defenders: Menaf Awol, Yared Baye, Aschalew Tamene, Desta Yohannes, Suliman Hameed, Remedan Yesuf, Asrat Tunjo, Mignot Debebe

Midfielders: Haider Sherefa, Mesud Mohamed, Amanuel Yohannes, Tafesse Solomon, William Solomon, Gatoch Panom, Yehun Endeshaw, Habtamu Takeste, Surafel Dagnachew, Fitsum Alemu

Forward: Shemeket Gugsa, Abubeker Nassir, Amanuel Gebremichael, Getaneh Kebede, Abel Yalew, Mujib Kassim.
