Tyson Fury feeling ‘absolutely terrible’ ahead of Deontay Wilder trilogy fight

Tyson Fury claims he is feeling ‘absolutely terrible’ with one week to go before his trilogy rematch against Deontay Wilder.

The WBC champion is set for his first-ever defence of his belt after beating the Bronze Bomber in February 2020 to take the strap.

He had expected to face Anthony Joshua this summer but that became a July clash with Wilder, before a coronavirus outbreak in his camp put that fight back to October.

Fury is in Las Vegas as he makes his final preparations for his October 9 clash, and the Daily Star reported that he believes feeling subpar is normal at this stage of training.

He said: “I feel terrible, absolutely terrible. But if you did an eight-week training camp and you were just winding down and you feel fantastic, you didn’t do it right.

“If you brutalise your body for eight weeks, training twice a day, six days a week, getting battered to bits in sparring by four or five different guys at a time, if you feel great then you’re a bionic human being.

“And in a week’s time, I will feel fantastic.”
