Yussif Chibsah completes switch to Alanyaspor in Turkey

The former Asante Kotoko captain has joined the Turkey second tier league side from Djurgarden in Sweden.

Yussif Alhassan Chibsah has begun a new life in Turkey after completing the switch from Sweden top flight side, Djurgarden.

Chibsah was unveiled by 1.Lig side, Alanyaspor on Friday after signing a one-year deal with the newly promoted club from 2.Lig.

30 year old Chibsah leaves Djurgarden after 2 and half years having previously featured for Gefle, also in Sweden since arriving in Europe in 2007.

“I believe this is the beginning of good works,” Chibsah was quoted as saying after the unveiling ceremony.

“Officially official: Alanyaspor! All praise be to Allah (Alhamdulillah),” Chibsah later posted along with a plethora of photos from the unveiling.

Professional life in Turkey began straight away for the former Ghana U-23 captain even though Alanyaspor do not get the 2014/15 1.Lig season off until August 30 when they take on Manisaspor away.

Chibsah becomes only the third foreign player for Alanyaspor along with 29 year old Frenchman, Jonathan Ayite who has also only just joined Alanyaspor and 24 year old German, Mehmet Burak Kağan Uça.

The club plays at the 3,750 capacity Milli Egemenlik Stadyumu in Alanya.
