Ghana and 6 countries bid for AFCON 2017

Ghana are among seven countries to put in a bid to host the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the final bids following the submission deadline on September 30.

Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Sudan, Zimbabwe and 2012 co-hosts Gabon all submitted their proposals to the continent’s biggest football event.

CAF will announce the eventual host in 2015. Ghana co-hosted with Nigeria in 2000 before going alone in 2008.
