Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Welterweight Champion Joshua Clottey has rubbished media reports that he has agreed to fight a Brazilian opponent in December.
Clottey, has been inactive after his victory against Mundine last September and a fight which was on the cards to put him back on track also hit the wall after Canelo sustained an injury.
Media reports say, Super Entertainment Boxing Promotions have agreed to stage a fight for the former IBF champion to keep him in shape ahead of any proposed world title.
But speaking exclusively to sportscrusader.com, Joshua Clottey stated that the promoters misled the public by confirming that he has agreed to fight in December.
“I have not agreed with any promoter to fight in Ghana, I think that they made a mistake as to who indeed will be fighting.
“I got a call from the promoter in Australia and he apologized he said is Joshua Okine and not me so that is it, am not the one who will be fighting any Brazilian but Joshua Okine rather”.
