First, he arrived in the ring for the fight against George Ashie in a palanquin, then he followed against Pontillas making an entry on a horse but you better wait for the big surprise Emmanuel Tagoe has for his fans when he flies into the ring for his upcoming fight next week.
The boxer managed and promoted by Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan’s BabyJet Promotions faces Tanzanian, Sadiki Momba in a WBO Intercontinental Lightweight championship at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 26 and the man nicknamed Game Boy certainly plans to arrive in grand style.
“I am coming into the ring with a plane, yes we are going to make it happen,” Tagoe promised when he appeared on GTV’s Stage Africa programme last week.
“I am calling on all my fans to be there to see for themselves, I don’t want anybody to miss out. Don’t sit at home for anybody to come and tell you,” Game Boy added.
Codenamed ‘Who rules the ring?’, the Boxing Day show is a BabyJet Promotions event which has other mouthwatering side attractions including Asamoah Gyan himself taking to Tagoe’s corner in the ring during the fight itself.
Also expected are musical performances in-between fights by some of Ghana’s top artistes on the bill which also has some exciting fights on the undercard.
These include the Ghana national Super Featherweight championship between Michael Pappoe and Abraham Osei Bonsu as well as the eliminator for the same title featuring Michael Ansah versus Ishmael Aryee.
In other bouts, Prosper Ankrah faces Nick Otieno in a final eliminator for the Commonwealth Bantamweight title, Raymond Commey against Fadhill Majiha of Tanzania in a Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title eliminator and a Featherweight contest between Felix Williams and Razak Nettey.
