Former Berekum Chelsea hitman, Emmanuel Clottey has confirmed that he is in transfer talks with defending league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Reports emanating from the media indicate that the former Great Olympics star-man is in advance talks with the Kumasi based club for a possible transfer as the Porcupine Warriors target is to augment their squad ahead of the FCP premier league and the club’s impending assignment in this year’s CAF champions league.
Emmanuel Clottey is yet to play active football after terminating his season loan deal with UAE side Al Dhafra last season due to his nagging foot injury.
However, Clottey who is still under contract with Esperance of Tunis is currently in Ghana to re-launch his career as his target is to wear the red and white shirt.
In an exclusive interview with Emmanuel Clottey, he confirmed to Allsports.com.gh, that he is in transfer talks with Kumasi Asante Kotoko hoping that the Management of the Kumasi based club will negotiate with Esperance for his release.
“ I can confidently say that I’m in talks with Asante Kotoko for a possible transfer and I will play for them if the negotiation goes on well, currently I have a year left in my contract with Esperance, so if Kotoko really want me to play for them they have to sit down with Esperance for my release,’’ he said.
He further added that, “Kotoko is a big club and it will be a dream for every player to wear the red shirt and I’m looking forward to re-write my name in the local league again.’’
Emmanuel Clottey was part of the Black Stars team that placed fourth in the 2013 AFCON.
