Turkish Super Lig outfit Istanbul BB have shown interest in signing AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien.
The 32-year-old has been unable to secure a regular starting role at the Rossoneri since his move in January 2014 and is considered surplus to requirements by coach Filippo Inzaghi.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Istanbul BB are keen to acquire Essien, but will have to convince the Ghana international to part ways with his current team.
The report suggests AC Milan will not stand in the way of any negotiations as it will free up the club’s payroll.
Essien, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Italians having arrived in Italy from English Premier League giants, Chelsea.
