English side Sunderland have made an approach for fellow Premier League strugglers Swansea midfielder Andre Ayew.
According to Sky Sports News, the Black Cats have made a formal approach to sign the Ghanaian midfielder, who has been one of the better performers in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Swansea.
Ayew only joined Swansea on a four-year deal at the start of the season and scored one of his seven Premier League goals against Sam Allardcye’s side in midweek.
Now it appears Sunderland have reportedly set their sights on poaching Ayew from the Swans, but it is understood Swansea are reluctant to part with one of their key attacking players.
Ayew spent the bulk of his career with Marseille, where he made 160 appearances before leaving the south of France last summer.
