French side Stade Rennais have joined the race to sign Real Betis target Alexander Djiku in the ongoing transfer window.
The Strasbourg defender has appeared on the radar of the two clubs, keen on securing his services before the start of the 2021/22 season.
Stade Rennais wants to strengthen its defense after the departure of captain Damien Da Silva to Olympic Lyon.
Real Betis are in talks with the representatives of Ghana International but no deal has been agreed yet.
According to sources, Djiku prefers to stay in France and could opt to sign for the Rennais-based club instead.
The 26-year-old could be making his way to the team as the third Ghanaian player in the Rennais squad for next season.
The team recently signed Ghanaian wonderkid Kamaldeen Sulemana from Nordsjaelland, Jeremy Doku of Ghanaian descent despite playing for Belgium.
