Ghanaian sprinter – Benjamin Azamati-Kwaku will go toe-to-toe with the second fastest man ever [together with Tyson Gay] – Yohan Blake in the preliminary round of the men’s 100m race at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
Ranked No. 58 in the world, Azamati-Kwaku is Ghana’s all-time fastest man in the 100m race having ran 9.97 seconds on March 26, 2021 to break Leo Myles Mills’ 9.98 seconds in 1998.
The 23-year-old was part of Ghana’s quartet [Benjamin Azamati-Kwaku, Paul Joseph Amoah, Sean Sarfo Antwi, and Joseph Oduro Manu] that put up a sizzling performance at the 2021 World Athletics Relays in Poland, running 38.78 seconds.
