Hasaacas Ladies beat Rivers Angels in WAFU final to complete historic treble

President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has sent heartfelt congratulations to Hasaacas Ladies FC for winning the maiden WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Ghanaian champions on Thursday defeated Rivers Angels FC from Nigeria 3-1 in the final to lift the title following a stellar performance in Ivory Coast.

‘’Congratulations to the team for this historic feat’’ President Simeon-Okraku told Ghanafa.org.

‘’First of all I would like to say Ayekoo to the players, the technical team and the management for their effort and hard work.

‘’I am sure there were doubts after the first loss in the tournament but some of us believed in the process and encouraged you not to drop your head and in the end it paid off.

‘’It feels great to witness this unbelievable achievement here in Ivory Coast. You worked very hard for it and deserve the plaudit.

‘’Winning the tournament clearly means you are deserving champions of our Women’s Premier League, because it takes hard work, desire, hunger and quality to win championships like this.

‘’The entire football fraternity is proud of this achievement and it’s our hope they go to Egypt and make Ghana proud in the main tournament’’

“On behalf of the football Association and the people of Ghana, I want to assure that we shall do our best to give you the needed support logistically and financially ahead of the main competition in Egypt’’ he added.

The WAFU Zone B trophy brings to three, the number of titles won in the 2020/21 season after their historic double in the Women’s Premier League and the Women’s FA Cup in June this year.

The Sekondi based side have also secured a slot at the maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League scheduled for Egypt in November 2021.
