Ghana national team head coach ,Charles Akonnor after seeing Ghana placed in Group C of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations says that he know Ghanaians are yearning to see them win next year’s competition and they will go all out with their best to achieve the highly sought ambition.
The country has gone almost 4 decades without smelling the aroma of Africa success since 1982 and most believe this is the time to rise to the pinnacle.
The Black Stars are billed to face Morocco in the opening group game before squaring off against the Panthers of Gabon in the second match and later round up the group stage against minnows Comoros.
“We are preparing feverishly for this tournament and the upcoming matches in the World Cup qualifiers, I’m sure we will be ready for this tournament,” Coach Akonnor said in reaction to the draw which he attended in the Cameroon capital.
“I think we had a strong friendly few months ago against Morocco and thank God they are now in our group so it gives us fair idea about our opponent and I want to thank the FA for organizing such friendly,” the Ghana coach said.
“We know what it is, Ghanaians are yearning for the cup and we will do our best to get it,” he hit his chest out with poise.
