Former Asante Kotoko striker, Eric Bekoe has revealed forward Kwame Opoku consulted him before he decided to join the Porcupine Warriors.
Opoku, 22, spent just a season with the Porcupine Warriors after joining from second-tier side Nkoranza Warriors.
The 5ft 11in forward became a household in Kumasi and Ghana football following his exploits with the Porcupine Warriors.
Bekoe, who scored 17 goals in 23 games in the 2007/08 season for Kotoko, has revealed Opoku consulted him before he decided to join Kotoko.
“Before Kwame Opoku decided to join Kotoko he called to consult me on the move. I sat down to review his clips and gave him the best of advice and told him he can be successful at Kotoko,” he told Sunyani-based Sun City Radio.
Opoku scored 6 goals in 16 games in the Ghana Premier League for Kotoko before he left to join Algerian side USM Alger on a mega deal.
The striker has since bagged a couple of goals for Algiers in the Algerian top flight.
