England third tier keeper starts for Black Stars against Zimbabwe in 2022 World Cup qualifier

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has named Swindon Town goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott in his starting XI as the Black Stars faces Zimbabwe’s Warriors in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying tie at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

The Serbian has opted to start Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew in attack ahead of Joel Fameyeh who is on scoring form in the Russian second-tier league.

Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey starts as a right-back while Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku partners the experienced Jonathan Mensah in central defence while Baba Rahman gets the nod to start ahead of Gideon Mensah at left-back. Dreams FC wasn’t selected by Milovan to start at right-back despite the unavailability of Andrew Yiadom.

Baba Iddrisu Mohammed of Real Mallorca has surprisingly been benched but Arsenal midfield dynamo Thomas Partey starts as the defensive midfield while Kudus Mohammed, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana all start.

Ghana’s line-up: Jojo Wollacott – Daniel Amartey, Jonathan Mensah, Alexander Djiku, Baba Rahman – Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew (C), Mohammed Kudus, Issahaku Fatawu – Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jordan Ayew.
