The second edition of the all-women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Tennis Tournament is scheduled to be held from Friday the 22nd to Saturday day 23rd October 2021 at Accra Lawn Tennis Club.
The 2-day event is being held in October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month. Speaking to ghanatennis.org, the organizer, the Executive Director of Mentoring Women Ghana, Brigitte Dzogbenuku said, “we will mark the Breast Cancer Awareness month with a tennis tournament. There is growing interest among young women in the sport of tennis, most to keep fit, others to enjoy the game and others, for the competitiveness of it. We will be bringing them all together”.
“There is going to be free breast screening and advice from experts and also a story of breast cancer survivor ” she added.
She has urged interested players to register at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC). Miss Dzogbenuku stated that players can only register for one event each.
The event is being supported by Ecobank, Hollard, FC and Ghandour.
