SWAG mourn with Vice President Dr. Bawumia in Walewale

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) joined thousands of mourners from far and near at the Adua and funeral of mother of the Vice President of Ghana of the Republic – Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Sunday, October 24 at the Kperiga D/A Primary School Park in Walewale in the North East Region.

The funeral which was performed in line with Islamic customs with a Quranic recitation on Sunday morning and offering of special prayers by mallams was attended by His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana and high profile dignitaries.

The funeral brought together dignitaries from all walks of life including politicians and diplomats to the hometown of Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The SWAG delegation consisted of famous Twi commentator, Kofi Asare Brako, Osman Hafiz [Chairman-SWAG-NR], Abdulai Majeed [Vice Chairman], Abubakari Yussif [secretary] and Iddrisu Nurudeen Guzi [Member] all of SWAG-NR in attendance.

The late Hajia Mariam Bawumia died on 13th September, 2021 at the age of 82 after a short illness.
