‘The players are ready and in good shape’ – Otto Addo

Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, has revealed the players are in good condition ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier playoff against Nigeria.

Ghana host the Super Eagles in the first-leg encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25, as they seek an advantage in the first encounter.

Addo, who is set to lead the team as the head coach for the first time believes his men are gunning to go in Kumasi.

“I have had enough time. The players are ready and in good shape. We have done a lot in training and I hope that we can show what we have done to Ghanaians,” the former Black Stars player told the media on Thursday.

The gaffer also calmed the fears and scepticism amongst the supporters, adding that is normal to feel that away ahead of a clash of this nature.

“It is reasonable that people are sceptical. It is normal. But in all of the scepticism, there is a chance. Football is football. We can play good and lose. We can play bad and win. We have worked hard. The players are ready.”

Edmund Addo has been ruled out of both encounters after suffering an injury while in-form attacking midfielder, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is doubtful for the game after missing out on the last training session due to a knock he picked in Wednesday’s training.
