Daniel-Kofi Kyereh returns to training ahead of St Pauli’s clash against Darmstadt

Ghana midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has returned to training ahead of the Bundesliga third and fourth place clash between St Pauli and Darmstadt on Saturday.

The 26-year-old missed the trip to Sandhausen after picking a knock during the game against Werder Bremen a fortnight ago.

The Ghana international has been St. Pauli’s livewire in their quest to earn promotion to the Bundesliga this season, having scored 11 goals and provided ten assist in the Bundesliga II.

“The good news is that James Lawrence and Luca Zander have resumed full training. Eric Smith is almost back to full capacity, as is Daniel-Kofi Kyereh,” said manager Timo Schultz in the pre-match conference.

“I think we’ll have a big group to choose from this weekend. Eric was out for a few weeks and needs the training to get back to match fitness, but he looks fresh. As for Kofi, we won’t be taking any risks but will discuss everything calmly, give it a go in training and then decide whether he’s ready for the weekend,” he added.

St Pauli are just two points away from league leaders Schalke O4.
