Ghanaian youngster Nikolas Nartey returns to Stuttgart first team training after three months out with injury

Denmark-born Ghanaian midfielder Nikolas Nartey has rejoined his team mates at VfB Stuttgart after recovering from a long-term injury which kept him out for three months.

The central midfielder has been out of action since his last appearance for Stuttgart on January 15, 2022 against RB Leipzig.

Nartey went under the knife in February this year to correct his recurring knee problem where he underwent an arthroscopic procedure to remove loose bodies.

The surgery put him sidelines since then but took part in a joint running session on the pitch for first time in three months on Monday.

However, Stuttgart manager Pellegrino Matarazzo has said the Danish U21 player will need “a little more time” to comeback to play competitively.

The 22-year-old before his surgery had made 8 appearances for Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga this campaign.

Nartey has played in central midfield, left midfield and defensive roles this in his 8 matches in this season for Stuttgart.
