The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 13th African Games, Accra 2023, has partnered with the Ghana Athletics Association, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ghana Olympic Committee for the National Athletics Invitational Championship.
The multidisciplinary events, which come off at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday and Friday, will provide athletes the last opportunity to qualify for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Furthermore, it would also serve as one of the series of preparatory events for the GAA select Team Ghana for the African Games.
The events will open with 500 meters, 100 meters, long jump, 800 meters, and discus heats.
