English-born Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has gotten off to a great start at Charlton Athletic, scoring a fantastic goal in his first game for the League One club.
Rak-Sakyi scored 11 minutes into his Charlton debut as the Addicks defeated Plymouth Argyle 5-1 in a league match on Tuesday.
Ghana international Jojo Wollacott was in goal for Charlton, who dominated their opponents to take all three points to return to winning ways.
Rak-Sakyi, 19, joined Charlton on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace last week.
The decision is clearly motivated by a desire for more playing time. He wasn’t guaranteed that at Palace, so he agreed to join Charlton, where he made an immediate impact.
Rak-Sakyi finished from close range after Argyle keeper Michael Cooper could only parry Jayden Stockley’s header after 11 minutes.
Plymouth were fortunate not to be trailing by a bigger margin before James Wilson was sent off for handling Charlie Kirk’s goalbound shot. Stockley stepped up to send Cooper the wrong way from the spot in the 41st minute.
