Ghana’s Ishmael Arthur has returned after his impressive performance at the 2022 Soweto Marathon.
Arthur, a member of the Ghana Armed Forces and a student of the University of Ghana, placed 14th with a 1:14 in the men’s 21-Kilometer race which saw over 10,000 athletes participating.
The middle and long distance athlete touched down in Accra on Tuesday, November 8, in the company of officials of Medivents Consult – event organisers of the annual Accra Inter-City Marathon.
It was his second major marathon after participating in the Dubai Marathon five years ago.
Arthur expressed appreciation to the management of Medivents Consult and his lead sponsors Allied Consortiums for initiating and supporting his participation in the event.
He promised to improve upon his time in order to make a better impact in future events.
Mr. Henri Senyo Penni – General Manager of Medivents Consult, also commended the athlete for his performance in the race.
He also expressed appreciation to the sponsors of the trip Allied Consortiums for their investments on the activities of his outfit.
Mr. Senyo Penni said, plans are in place to see to the participation of more Ghanaian athletes in international competitions.
The participation of Arthur in the Soweto Marathon was an initiative of Medivents Consult and sponsored by Allied Consortiums.
