Cape Verde ‘s David Pina punches way to Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Cape Verde’s flyweight David Pina is the 20th African boxer to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

He put up a super duper show to score a unanimous 5-0 points victory over Iran’s Mahdi Parvizi who literally punched the air for the better part of the three rounds unable to find his range against Pina whose footwork was fantastic.

Pina becomes the second African boxer to qualify for the Games in the Bangkok qualifiers and the 20th boxer from Africa to assure himself of his boarding pass on the flight to Paris.

Meanwhile Nigeria’s African Games middleweight champion Patricia Mbata lost to Mexico’s Vanessa Ortiz.
