The president of the Ghana Jiu Jitsu Federation (GJJF), Maxwell Borketey Borquaye, has been honoured as a Grand Master of Martial Arts by the Saizen Goju Ryu International Martial Arts (SGRIMA).

According to SGRIMA, Mr Borquaye was inducted into the schools international Hall of Fame and international alliances by its supreme board for his outstanding performance and dedication to martial arts worldwide.

In a certificate signed by Great Grand Masters, Edwin Carrion, Dr Raheem Gardner and Rodolfo Cardenas, Mr Borquaye was honoured for his years of dedicated service to the sport.

The president of the GJJF told the Daily Graphic in an interview that he was ready to impart his knowledge in martial arts from across the globe to Ghanaians.

He promised to work harder to move from a Grand Master to the pinnacle of martial arts.

“This is a great honour for me and Ghana as a whole and I believe it will go a long way to help me impart my knowledge in martial arts to the upcoming ones.

“I am not going to rest after this motivation and I promise to continue working hard to get to the pinnacle of martial arts in the world,” he said.

He seized the opportunity to thank Mr Lawrence Agyinsam, CEO of EXIM Bank, Mr Isaac Osei Kwadwo, Office of the Vice President, Mr Duke Ofori-Atta, and Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, MP for Ablekuma South, for their support.
