Ghana FA President grateful to Sports Minister for support

President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku has expressed gratitude to staff of the Association, Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif (MP) and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture led by Kwaku Agyenim-Boateng (MP) for their unwavering support during his first term.

President Simeon-Okraku made these remarks during the Elective Congress of the Ghana Football Association in Tamale.

The President retained his seat for the next four-years after 117 delegates voted in his favour to continue as head of Ghana football’s governing body.

‘’I want to thank my staff led by the General Secretary. They call me Mr. Pressure because I don’t allow them to sleep. Clearly where we took Ghana football, we needed to work 26 hours, not 24 hours to develop the game’’ he said.

‘’A lot more is expected from us going into the next four years. We have to work a lot more to attain the desired results’’

‘’I also want to say thank you to the sector Minister Mustapha Ussif (MP) for all the support that he offered us and his promised support for football going into the next four years.  I cannot leave the Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture, my family and most importantly the Elections Committee for their outstanding work’’

‘’In departing, we have an Africa Cup of Nations ahead of us, we have World Cup qualifiers ahead of us well and we all have to work hard to excel in both competitions because Ghana have to be at the next World Cup’’ he added.
