Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon now fixed for September 21

The third Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon is scheduled to take place on Saturday. September 21, 2024 starting from the Accra Sports Stadium and ending at the Trust Sports Emporium aka Bukom Boxing Arena at Jamestown.

The event involving 21km half marathon, 10km and 5km competitive races is the third edition and sponsored by Serene Insurance, Indomie, Allied Consortiums, Parin Africa Limited, Ethiopian Airlines, Unichem Group of Companies, GWO Servo, Healthi Life and Decathlon.

Mr. William Ezah, CEO of Medivents Consult organisers of the AICM said people should register to have vest and numbers to participate because the benefits are many aside gaining fit and healthy,  it is for networking, socialising, making new friends and contacts as well as having fun to release stress.

He said other sports people like boxers,  table tennis, basketball,  badminton,  hockey,  volleyball, football players can join.

“We have boxers coming on since it was commenced and we are certain they will join,” he assured.

The 2024 Accra Inter City Homowo Marathon was launched by the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah. He called on Ghanaians, especially the people of Accra to be part and make it a memorable sporting event.

The Ga Traditional Council has also accepted the Race as part of the Homowo celebrations.

To register for the forthcoming 2024 Accra Intercity Marathon, Homowo edition, dial *380*21#. Keep in mind that you must finish the payment procedure in order to be included in this edition.
