Golden Belt Series: Moroccos’ Hamout in semis, Egypt’s Muxanga out in

Morocco’s Mohammed Hamout (pictured) has punched his way to the semi-finals of the ongoing Golden Belt Series tournament in Marrakesh.

Hamout, gold medallist at the 2015 Africa Championships and last year’s Mediterranean Games champion, stopped Libya’s Abdulhakim Okashah in the second round of their lightweight bout.

Two other African boxers, Egypt’s welterweight Abdelaziz Elsayed and Mozambican light-middleweight Tiago Muxanga have been sent packing.

Elsayed was beaten 5-0 by Russia’s Tarkham Idigov while Muxanga lost by a similar margin to Igor Sviridchenko of Russia.
