Atsu’s death a monumental loss – SWAG

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) have described as monumental, the sudden demise of Black Stars winger, Christian Atsu.

Remarking in a press statement signed by the President of the Association, Kwabena Yeboah, SWAG held that Atsu’s dedication and commitment to his football career are feats that should be eulogised and remembered.

SWAG described Atsu’s high sense of conviviality and benevolence as virtues that should be emulated by colleague footballers and the entire nation.

“We are pained by the loss of a brilliant footballer who had risen through the ramshackle of the game to attain international reputation,” the statement said.

“A dedicated footballer who had volunteered a lot of time and commitment to his football career for both club and country,” it continued.

“Indeed the demise of Atsu comes as a monumental loss to the entire football community due to his huge sense of conviviality and benevolence, notably his charity works in Ghana,” the statement added.

SWAG also extended a heartfelt condolence to the entire football fraternity, wife and the extended family.
