Ayew has been in the Bono regional town for the 2023 All Stars Festival event along with his brother Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso and several others.

The forward, who is Ghana’s all-time highest appearance maker with 114 games, presented a customised jersey of Nottingham to Nana Agyeman Badu II in a grand ceremony.

Upon receiving the customised souvenir from the 2011 BBC African Player of the Year, the chief declared that the first male child born in the town would be named after the Black Stars captain.

He further stated, the child would be given a lifetime scholarship by the Dormaahene.
