Africa Boxing Confederation (AFBC) President, Eyassu Wossen Berhane has assured African boxers yet to receive their prize money they’ll soon have their pockets loaded.

He made the assurance when he met some Nigerian boxers in a training session in Abuja where he promised to support them with boxing gear.

Berhane reiterated his earlier announcement that one of his immediate priorities is to liase with IBA to ensure that all boxers who have not received their prize money are paid promptly, assuring boxers that under his leadership there would be no delay in the payment of their prize money.

“We must treat our boxers with dignity and appreciate their achievements, they have their families take take care of,” said Berhane.

He added that he has several goodies lined up for boxers who excel in the ring to motivate them to do better and make Africa proud in global international competitions such the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games.

He assured boxers he will introduce more competitions in Africa with attractive prize money to boot.
