Charles Quartey vies for President as Ghana United Boxing Coaches go to polls February 15

Former Ghanaian boxer and renowed trainer, Charles Quartey who also heads the technical team of Ghana’s boxing youth team (Black Rockets) has formally announced the intention to vie to lead the United Boxing Coaches Association of Ghana when they go to the polls to elect new executive leaders on February 15.

Coach Quartey who also owns and runs the Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation has undeniably contributed a lot to the boxing world in Ghana and beyond, per his records including emerging the winner of first season of the Ghana Professional Boxing League in 2022 and also leading season 2 until it’s controversial climax.

According to the experienced fight teacher, his ambition to lead the Ghana United Boxing Coaches Association is to raise the standard of Ghanaian boxing coaches in the international arena and maintaining a mutual support for everyone within the association.

“Top on my list is to unite all coaches, bring everyone on board and bring back the love. I want every coach to have a say in decision making, it must not be one-sided,” he said.

“I will also work with young coaches because together we can build the association and help raise Ghana boxing to the highest level,” Coach Quartey affirmed.
