14-4: Black Meteors sneak back into town

The Black Meteors have returned home after a two-week tour of Asia where they played Japan and South Korea. Ghana played the two countries in four different International friendlies in Fukuoka and Jeju respectively.

Coach Samuel Fabin’s side lost (6-0 and 4-0) to Japan before falling 3-1 and 2-1 to South Korea in an exercise that gave the technical team the opportunity to assess their strength against the Asian giants.

The Meteors team was made up of some players of the victorious Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.

Japan and South Korea used the games to prepare for the 2020 Olympics Games scheduled for Tokyo from July 23 to August 8, 2021.

The four friendly matches’ forms part of the long term vision of the Ghana Football Association to put together a formidable Black Meteors squad for the 2023 Africa Games in Accra, Ghana.
