Tokyo 2020: Benjamin Azamati offers apology to Ghanaians after elimination from 100m race

Ghana’s sprinting prospect, Benjamin Azamati has apologised to the country after his elimination from the 100m race at the ongoing Tokyo Olympic Games.

The 2020 edition of the Olympic Games in Japan is continuing today with athletes battling it out for medals.

Featuring in heat 7 of the men’s 100m race in the morning, Benjamin Azamati finished fourth with a time of 10.13 seconds.

Unfortunately, it was not enough and as a result, he has failed to make the semi-finals of the 100m race.

Taking to his Twitter after the race, the young sprinter has apologised to Ghanaians while vowing to continue working hard to do better in future events.

“Sorry Nation! I couldn’t turn up 🙏. Things will get better next time. Realized my mistakes and I would take it from there. Happy for the support from y’all! I feel loved and mentally I am there. I will keep my head up and focus on the next race,” Azamati posted on his Twitter page.
