MTN Golf tournament to shake 2021 Ashantifest

This year’s much awaited MTN Ashantifest golf tournament is expected to rock the Royal Golf Course in Kumasi next Saturday, September 25 when a host of golfers from all over Ghana tee off the invitational competition in pursuit of glory.

Over 80 golfers are billed to compete at the 18-Hole Stableford event to be held under the theme, ’25years of Brightening Lives and Beyond’ as part of sponsors, MTN’s silver jubilee celebrations which is being roped in to complement various traditional festivals in the Ashanti Region including an 8-community football gala.

“This invitational golf tournament forms part of MTN’s Ashantifest 2021 activities and is our way of rewarding and engaging with our high value customers within and around the Ashanti region for their continuous support to the MTN Brand,” a statement from the sponsors said.

In the event which is open to players with official handicaps, that is Men (0–28) and Ladies (0–36), MTN have promised a vast array of prizes for winners in the many categories players will compete at in the chase for honours in Kumasi.

Expected to grace the event and even compete for the ultimate trophy himself will be MTN Board Chairman, Ishmael Yamson and other senior management staff among a number of top dignitaries.

Organisers are also on wild alert and are putting high measures in place to strictly enforce all Covid-19 protocols in order to ensure everyone’s safety.

“For the network proper, we are investing 207 million US Dollars to enhance what we have already,” MTN Northern Business District Manager, Nii Adotey Mingle had also said at the launch of the 2021 edition of the Ashanti festival in Kumasi last week.

“We are by far the largest telecom operator in the country, but we are investing more to ensure that in every corner you find yourself in you can make a call if you have an MTN SIM,” Mr. Mingle added.
