Maxwell Amoafo, Huskies progress to Canadian national championship tournament

Ghana Center/ Power Forward Maxwell Amoafo is in line to compete in the Canadian University National Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Amoafo’s University of Saskatchewan beat University of Regina 97-93 to progress beyond the Canada West Final Four Tournament into the national championship round.

6 foot 7 inch Amoafo played 12 minutes in the win as a starter while registering three points, three steals and a rebound; his limited time on the court was down to foul trouble as he picked up three early in the contest.

The team is scheduled to play Brock University on April 1 in the first of a possible three game run that could lead to a national title win.

The remaining games against yet to be determined opponents are scheduled for April 2 and April 3 respectively in Edmonton, Canada.

Amoafo is in his fourth season with the Huskies and a possible national title win should bring his run with the Huskies to a successful end.
