Ghana Center, Amida Brimah has signed a one year deal with Japan Basketball Leagie 1 side Akita Northern Happinets.

The deal is described as “lucrative” according to Belgian news outlet GVA and marks Brimah’s debut venture to Asia since graduating from University of Connecticut.

6 foot 10 inch athletic shot blocker Brimah joins Happinets after his successful run with Filou Oostende that ended with the team winning its 11th league title in a row.

Despite battling COVID 19 and a serious foot injury, Brimah averaged 8.9 points and seven rebounds in the Basketball Champions League and averaged 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in the Belgian League.

In the immediate aftermath of the league’s conclusion, EuroBasket reported Brimah had signed a deal to return to Puerto Rican outfit, Mets de Guaynabo.

Brimah led a quick turnaround in fortune for Mets that resulted in Guaynabo reaching the league finals for the first time in over decade. He however, didn’t feature in any game in the second half of the regular season as Guaynabo missed out on a playoff spot due to yet to be determined factors.

Happinets finished sixth in the 11 team Eastern standings in Japan’s top flight Basketball league but got eliminated in the best of three games first round playoff series.
