Hajia Akoto, Mouganie win Maximum Joy Foundation golf tournament

Hajia Zenabu Akoto and Jeffery Mouganie have emerged the winners of the maiden edition of the Maximum Joy Foundation Charity Golf Competition held on August 4, 2022, at the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club in Accra.

Hajia Akoto won the Ladies’ title with 39 Stableford points, edging Beatrice Dovlo (34points) and Elizabeth Essel-Koomson (33points) into second and third place respectively.

It was a tight race in the Men’s Category A contest which saw Mouganie win on countback after tying with Prince Agyiri on 35points. Jason Roberts placed third with 34 points.

Mark Kamis emerged winner of the Men’s Category B reserved for players with handicaps between 12.2 to 54.

Kamis amassed 46points to beat Derrick Acquila (37points) and Naven Naicker (36points) into second and third place respectively.

Foundation

The golf tournament was held to raise funds for the operation of the Maximum Joy Foundation, an NGO founded by avid golfer Belinda Kumako.

The NGO is focused on providing teenage single mothers with employable skills.
