Raphael Dwamena scores on debut for Swiss 5th tier side BSC Old Boys

Striker Raphael Dwamena scored on his debut for Swiss fifth-tier side BSC Old Boys on Saturday, 3 September 2022, in their 2-1 win over FC Regensdorf.

It was a trademark powerful shot in the 75 minutes which opened his account for the amateur side.

The 28-year-old has dropped to the lower division to revive his career after a heart condition halted his rise.

He grabbed the headlines when he ‘collapsed’ during a cup game in Austria last October when he played 45 minutes for Danish side Vejle in their 3-2 win over Lyngby.

The last time the former Ghana international scored a league goal was on 27 September 2021 when he netted  a 92nd minute goal in the 2-2 draw with FC Copenhagen.

At the moment he is playing without a defribillator and that is seen as a positive sign.

The club are now fourth on the 2.Ligainterregional (Group 3) table with six points after three matches.
