Black Stars hold first training ahead of Angola qualifier

The Black Stars of Ghana held their first training on Monday, March 20 at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.

Eight players, led by skipper Andre Ayew trained at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the first game of new national team head coach, Chris Hughton.

Other players present at the session were Joojo Wollacott, Inaki Williams, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, Antoine Semenyo, Joseph Paintsil, and new boy Ransford-Yeboah.

The rest of the players are expected to arrive on Monday night to join the team fly to Kumasi for Tuesday’s training session at the Baba Yara stadium.

Joojo Wollacott, who suffered an injury before the World Cup last year, had a session with goalkeepers’ trainer Richard Kingston, while the rest of the group was asked to stretch their muscles and did a bit of kick-about with the ball.

Chris Hughton had a team talk with the boys, and also had a tete â tete with Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who are with the Black Meteors.

Black Stars management committee chairman, Mark Addo, watched the session.
