Accra 2023: Emmanuel Commey advances to table tennis round of 32

Ghana Immigration Service’s Emmanuel Commey who recently returned to Ghana from a training program geared towards the Africa Games in the United Kingdom, has advanced to the round of 32 in the men’s singles competition.

Commey claimed a 3-1 (11-3, 11-8, 10-12, 11-3) victory over Joseph Sebatindira of Uganda and another 3-1 (11-2, 11-8, 13-15, 11-1) success over Bertin Mingashanga of Democratic Republic of Congo.

Commey took control of both games from the start, dominating throughout the matches. He was a delight to watch as the supporters cheered him on to victory.

The 2021 Sports Writer’s Association of Ghana (SWAG) award winner is very happy with his performance so far and he looks forward to his next match.

Commey next faces experienced Saheed Idowu in the round of 32 for a place in the quarter finals.

Samuel Akayade will also be playing in the round of 32 against Stephane Ouaiche of Algeria.
