Ethiopian Airlines Support Sekondi-Takoradi Marathon (STM)

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest airline, has joined the list of sponsors for the 2021 Sekondi-Takoradi Marathon (STM) slated for Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Takoradi.

The airline, as part of the sponsorship package, would provide two return air tickets for two winners of the event to enable them participate in the international marathon in the United Kingdom (UK).

In view of this, the male and female winners of the competition will have the opportunity to participate in an international marathon in the UK next year.

Madam Yemesrach Alemayehu, Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines, said her outfit was delighted to be part of the event, which is gradually growing each year.

She said her outfit would provide the needed support for the two winners to be in the UK to exhibit their talents.

Mr. William D. Ezah Project Manager for Sekondi-Takoradi Marathon expressed appreciation to the airline for supporting the event.

He said they would do their best to ensure all the needed benefits entitled to the airline were provided.

Mr. Ezah said so far, close to 300 athletes with five keep fit clubs have registered for the event, with the numbers expected to rise by close of registration on Saturday, December 25.

Ethiopian Airlines operates daily flights from Accra to over 120 countries around the world via its hub in Addis Ababa.

The e-visa (online visa application) allows Ghanaian passengers to apply for visa from the comfort of their homes or offices.

Passengers with a longer stopover in Addis Ababa, can book a free city tour prior to departure.

The STM is under the auspices of the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC), and organized by Medivents Consult with support from Total Marketing and Tours Limited (TMTL).

Over 500 athletes drawn from all over the country are expected to participate in the event.
