Ghana’s Black Stars on Sunday held their last training before their final group B game against the Mambas of Mozambique at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Ivory Coast.
The national team must beat the Southern Africans to enhance qualification prospects for the round of 16 of the 24-nation tournament.
Ghana remain rooted to the bottom of the group on a paltry one point following defeat to Cape Verde and draw with Egypt in their opening two games in Abidjan.
A victory on Monday evening at the Allasane Quattara Stadium would take the Black Stars’ points build-up to four and a bright chancing of booking one of the 16 slots available in the second round even if Egypt beat group winners, Cape Verde in their own last game, which of course will be played simultaneously at the Houphoet Boigny Stadium across town.
