Asamoah Gyan backs Black Stars to qualify for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Former skipper of Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has backed the Ghana to qualify from Group I after the Group stage draw on Thursday.

The Confederation of African Football conducted its draw for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan has expressed optimism of the Black Stars qualifying for the tournament.

Speaking at the draw Asamoah Gyan stated that the country is becoming consistent with qualifying for world cup tournament and the next one will be no exception even though it will not be easy.

“It is not going to be easy because the expectation is high back home. We will try our possible best to make sure we also qualify,” Gyan said.

“Since we qualified to the World Cup for the first time in 2006, we are getting used to the World Cup. We’ll do our best to qualify again for the tournament,” he added.
